Europus Teo is a language consultancy company based in An Cheathrú Rua, Co. Galway. The company provides translation, subtitling and teletext services as well as language consultancy to its clients. Europus provides scheduling, teletext and subtitling services to TG4 and the TG4 Newsroom and subtitling services to RTÉ. Europus was established in 1996. The director of Europus, Áine Ní Chonghaile received her training in the Translation Section of the Houses of the Oireachtas, Leinster House, Dublin and spent over ten years as a legal translator in the section. The company now employs 13 people. All our translators have an honours degree in Irish and sit a practical examination as well as an interview before appointment. Most of our translators hold a Master's degree in Irish. Europus translators receive extensive training in-house and must attend Europus's Post Graduate Diploma in Translation which is validated and accredited by HETAC and funded by Údarás na Gaeltachta. The course contains a subtitling module and Europus is now offering a Master of Science Degree in Translation, again with the assistance of Údarás na Gaeltachta.
